We’re pleased to share that two of our Jack Petchey Award winners have kindly funded a trip to Colchester Zoo for our Young Volunteers and members of the QT Club. Your young person has been specially invited to attend the trip, which will take place on Wednesday, 29th July 2026.

Trip details:

Depart Yellow Door: 9:00am
Arrive at Colchester Zoo: 10:00am
Lunch: 12:00–12:30pm
Depart Colchester zoo: 3:00pm
Return to Yellow Door: 4:00pm

Young people will need to bring a packed lunch and wear appropriate clothing for the day. They will be supervised throughout the day by four members of staff.

As part of the trip, they will also be asked to wear an item we provide to help identify them as part of our group. They will need to keep it on for the duration of the visit.

If we do not hear from you by May 25^th2026, we will offer the space to other club members. If you’re unable to attend for any reason, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer the spot to someone else.

Paper forms will be kept in a locked cabinet. Membership forms and session registers will also be kept electronically. We will share this information with Essex Youth Service. This data will only be used internally by Essex Youth Service and will not be shared with any other organisation by them. If you are booked onto holiday clubs, your data will also be shared with the Active Essex HAF Programme, our funding partners for the holiday programme. If you would like to see their privacy information, please let us know. The only other time we will share your information or your child’s will be when we are legally obliged to do so, e.g., for safeguarding, or when you give us specific permission.
