The Art Project

The Art Project is a weekly mentoring group for young people aged 11–16, meeting every Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. In a small, supportive environment, participants explore their feelings and challenges — such as anxiety, low mood, school pressures, and friendship struggles — through creative expression and meaningful discussion. Sessions are designed to build confidence, self-esteem, and resilience, with guidance from caring mentors who support each young person at their own pace.

Each member receives a sketchbook and a personalized artwork storage box, encouraging creativity both in and outside the group. Sessions are flexible and engaging, offering painting, sculpting, printmaking, sewing, and more. Monthly themes chosen by the group spark conversations about life, school, and coping strategies. In their first project together, the group created a collaborative board game using handmade materials — a fun, hands-on way to break the ice and build connections.
